Erie Insurance Arena Facilities
Of the Erie Insurance Arena’s 7,000 fully upholstered chairs, 5,500 are permanent theatre-style seats. Part of the permanent seating folds away through electrically operated telescopic risers, turning the arena floor into 17,000 square feet of space. With capabilities for 200 standard 10 ft. x10 ft. display booths, the floor is suitable for trade shows and expositions. The arena can also provide up to 2,000 sit-down dinners through its in-house catering service. The meeting space can be reduced to 24 ft. x 24 ft. to accommodate five separate meetings or expanded to 24 ft. x 160 ft. for one large room. A conference room in the lower level can accommodate up to 50 meetings or office space. Private meeting rooms are available in the upper-level skyboxes.
Load-in facilities include one 14 ft. x 24 ft. door and a 10 ft. x 10 ft. loading-dock door. Trucks may back into the heated storage area to load into the arena. Two trucks may back into this space at once. The distance to the stage area from the load-in is 10 ft. The Erie Insurance Arena's technical capabilities offer a range of lighting, sound and seating options for the diverse events it hosts each year.
From September through April, the Erie Insurance Arena’s concrete floor turns to ice. For concerts, basketball and trade shows during this period, the ice is covered with synthetic, insulated floor panels.
National performing artists such as Elton John, Rod Stewart, Cher, KISS, Barry Manilow and Alan Jackson, along with Disney on Ice, World Wrestling Entertainment, the Harlem Globetrotters and Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus have performed at the Erie Insurance Arena.
